Deemed surplus to requirements, Hojlund joined Napoli on a season-long loan, scoring 10 goals back within the Italian top flight.<\/p>\n<p>The deal that took Hojlind to Naples included an obligation to purchase clause should Antonio Conte\u2019s side qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>While things may now be out of United\u2019s hands, Owen believes Hojlund must be given one other likelihood to prove his price at Old Trafford where Carrick has built a \u2018functioning\u2019 side a striker can thrive in.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t care who you play up front, it\u2019s very hard to guage when the team aren\u2019t functioning,\u2019 Owen told Premier League Productions after United\u2019s 2-1 victory over Brentford on Monday night.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2272529799.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28146593\" alt=\"SSC Napoli v US Cremonese - Serie A\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Hojlund joined Napoli on loan last summer (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018Stirkers are the top of the chain, if the chain is broken, it\u2019s pointless in some ways. I&#8217;d like to see Hojlund and see what he can do now.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He played in a Manchester United team that was broken and didn\u2019t have any links and played poorly. Who\u2019s to say he\u2019s not likely good?
