Arman Tsarukyan was offered quite a bizarre fight on the UFC White House card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UFC lightweight primary contender hasn\u2019t competed within the premier promotion since last November when he dominated Dan Hooker.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

Since then, the 29-year-old has competed seven times outside of the promotion, with nearly all of which have come under the Real American Freestyle Wrestling banner.<\/p>\n

And although he hoped to fight for the lightweight title against Ilia Topuria on the upcoming UFC White House card, he was offered a completely different fight.<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan was offered UFC White House fight against Michael Chandler<\/h2>\n

With Topuria and Justin Gaethje set to unify the lightweight title within the major event, Tsarukyan was hopeful of probably filling in because the backup.<\/p>\n

Despite that, the 29-year-old doubts the situation will occur that may result in him stepping in on short notice.<\/p>\n

At one point, though, it looked as if \u2018Ahalkalakets\u2019 would compete on the historic card as he was offered a fight by the promotion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey desired to match me with (Michael) Chandler, but then realized it\u2019s a foul fight for him,\u201d Tsarukyan told the PBD Podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s representing the U.S. and it\u2019s like 99.9% likelihood I beat him, in order that they went with (Mauricio) Ruffy as a substitute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Chandler hoped for a clash against Conor McGregor on the cardboard, however the promotion as a substitute matched him up with Mauricio Ruffy, finally putting an end to his rivalry with McGregor.<\/p>\n

A fight between Tsarukyan and Chandler would\u2019ve been relatively bizarre considering the incontrovertible fact that the Armenian is ranked second within the division, while Chandler is ranked thirteenth coming off the back of three losses in a row.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf someone gets hurt between Ruffy and Chandler they may call me,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Although the Armenian remains to be waiting for his next call from the UFC, he continues to remain lively by competing outside of the promotion.<\/p>\n

This Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Tsarukyan will compete on RAF 9, which is able to mark his fifth appearance within the promotion in five months.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old is hoping to finally fight for the undisputed lightweight title at the top of summer, nonetheless, if Topuria successfully defends his title on the White House, he could move as much as welterweight for a fight against Islam Makhachev.<\/p>\n
