Max Bultman of The Athletic<\/strong><\/a>: Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman said they need to vary some things, and get more talent. They should rating more, up and down their lineup, and possibly a little bit more definition with their lines.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I\u2019d wish to see us \u2014 in our bottom six, we want some production as well, and likewise to have some definition. Perhaps a real checking line or shutdown line, after which depending on what you will have in your top nine, you construct your fourth line a little bit bit around that. When you don\u2019t have enough production, you then\u2019ve got to get some production on that fourth line. When you\u2019re not sufficiently big and hard enough or whatnot, you then need that. And truthfully, we want a little bit little bit of all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yzerman said he hopes his team are watching the playoffs and seeing the intensity and determination needed to be within the playoffs in addition to getting there, and adds, \u201cBut ultimately it\u2019s incumbent upon me and my staff to enhance the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
