President Donald Trump<\/strong> isn\u2019t interested by wearing a bulletproof vest despite surviving multiple assassination attempts.<\/p>\n

Trump, 79, was asked by reporters<\/a> at an Oval Office event on Thursday, April 30, whether there had been any talks regarding the president taking the safety precaution in future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if I can handle looking 20 kilos heavier,\u201d Trump responded, prompting laughs from several people within the room.<\/p>\n

Trump was likely the intended goal when a shooter reportedly opened fire on the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner event, held within the Washington Hilton ballroom on April 24.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKaroline Leavitt claimed that nobody has endured \u201cmore violence\u201d than President Donald Trump following the recent shooting on the White House correspondents\u2019 dinner. \u201cSaturday was purported to be a joyful evening, celebrating free speech and the primary amendment with all of you members of the press,\u201d the White House press secretary, 28, said in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The president and first lady Melania Trump<\/strong>, 56, were rushed off stage after shots reportedly broke out.<\/p>\n

While the Trumps, Vice President J.D. Vance<\/strong> and others were safely evacuated, a Secret Service agent was struck through the incident. The wounded agent was wearing a protective vest.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrankly, the vest did an incredible job since it took a bullet close up,\u201d Trump said within the Oval Office on Thursday. \u201cAnd he didn\u2019t even need to go to the hospital. We sent him to the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also likened the experience of getting shot while wearing a bulletproof vest to \u201cgetting hit by Mike Tyson.\u201d<\/p>\n

The day after the WHCD shooting, Trump praised the bulletproof vest\u2019s role as he briefed the media on the condition of the injured Secret Service agent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vest did the job,\u201d Trump told reporters. \u201cI just spoke to the officer and he was doing great, he\u2019s in great shape, in very high spirits and I told him we love him and respect him and he\u2019s a really proud guy, he\u2019s very happy with what he does, the Secret Service agent.\u201d<\/p>\n

California native Cole Tomas Allen<\/strong> was apprehended through the shooting and subsequently charged with attempting to assassinate the President of america, transportation of a firearm and ammunition in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm during a criminal offense of violence, per the Justice Department. He has not yet entered a plea.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Trump insisted he was \u201chonored\u201d to be a goal after the WHCD shooting incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever you take a look at our great presidents, [this] doesn\u2019t occur to individuals who don\u2019t do anything,\u201d Trump told reporters on the White House on Saturday, April 25.<\/p>\n
