METRO PACIFIC WATER<\/span> (MPW) said it has earmarked P3.81 billion in capital expenditures (capex) for 2026 to fund water infrastructure projects and system upgrades.<\/p>\n The corporate said in a press release on Thursday that the capex program forms a part of its efforts to make sure stable water supply amid the potential impact of the El Ni\u00f1o season.<\/p>\n The planned spending will cover the laying of recent pipelines, the substitute of aging and undersized pipes, and the installation of 86,073 latest water service connections.<\/p>\n The corporate said it is going to also prioritize projects aimed toward reducing non-revenue water, including efforts to deal with leaks, illegal connections, and system losses.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough these strategic investments in infrastructure modernization and provide augmentation, we’re strengthening the reliability of our systems and safeguarding access to scrub and adequate water for our customers whilst the El Ni\u00f1o season approaches,\u201d Metro Pacific Water President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew B. Pangilinan said.<\/p>\n The corporate said it is usually accelerating the rollout of different water source projects.<\/p>\n These include ongoing construction of desalination facilities that may generate as much as 65 million liters per day, in addition to modular water treatment plants capable of manufacturing as much as 5 million liters per day.<\/p>\n Metro Pacific Water is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) and provides water services to about 860,000 residents across Iloilo City, Dumaguete City, and 7 municipalities inside its franchise areas.<\/p>\n MPIC is considered one of the three key Philippine units of Hong Kong-based First Pacific Co.
