{"id":328254,"date":"2026-05-03T02:23:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T20:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/?p=328254"},"modified":"2026-05-03T02:23:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T20:53:36","slug":"totalenergies-nextnorth-move-forward-with-isabela-solar-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/index.php\/2026\/05\/03\/totalenergies-nextnorth-move-forward-with-isabela-solar-project\/","title":{"rendered":"TotalEnergies, Nextnorth move forward with Isabela solar project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">NEXTNORTH.PH<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p2\">FRENCH ENERGY FIRM TotalEnergies and native renewable energy developer Nextnorth said they&#8217;ve reached financial close for a $300-million (P18.44-billion) solar project in Isabela.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">In a press release on Tuesday, TotalEnergies said the project involves a 440-megawatt-peak solar energy plant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Greater than half of the plant\u2019s output might be sold under long-term offtake agreements with retail electricity suppliers AdventEnergy and PrimeRES, which serve business and industrial users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The remaining output might be supplied to the national grid under the project\u2019s award within the fourth round of the federal government\u2019s green energy auction program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The project is financed by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., ING Bank NV, and Standard Chartered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">TotalEnergies said the project represents the most important international financing for a solar development within the Philippines thus far.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Olivier Jouny, senior vice-president for renewables at TotalEnergies, said the project will contribute to the corporate\u2019s 9-gigawatt renewable energy portfolio being developed with Masdar through a 50-50 three way partnership across nine Asian countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWith rising demand and continued exposure to imported fuels, the country needs domestic, scalable, and bankable renewable capability,\u201d Nextnorth President and Chief Executive Officer Miguel Mapa said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">TotalEnergies is an integrated energy company that produces and markets oil, biofuels, natural gas, biogas, low-carbon hydrogen, and electricity from renewable sources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Nextnorth is a Philippines-focused renewable energy developer with a pipeline of greater than 800 megawatts of projects under development and construction. \u2014 <b>Sheldeen Joy Talavera<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEXTNORTH.PH FRENCH ENERGY FIRM TotalEnergies and native renewable energy developer Nextnorth said they&#8217;ve reached financial close for a $300-million (P18.44-billion) solar project in Isabela.
