Wayne Rooney believes Arsenal will \u2018comfortably\u2019 win the Premier League (BBC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wayne Rooney has backed Arsenal to \u2018comfortably\u2019 win the Premier League ahead of Manchester City.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta\u2019s side moved six points clear at the highest of the Premier League with a 3-0 win at home to Fulham on Saturday.<\/p>\n

City have two games in hand and may cut the gap to 3 points with a win away to Everton on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Doubts had been raised over Arsenal\u2019s title credentials following back-to-back defeats within the Premier League to Bournemouth and City last month.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, Rooney is adamant that Arsenal will win their remaining three Premier League games against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace, and predicts Pep Guardiola\u2019s side will slip up.<\/p>\n

\u2018I believe Arsenal will win it,\u2019 Rooney said on BBC\u2019s Match of the Day.<\/p>\n

\u2018I felt this after Man City beat Arsenal as well. I felt it was possibly in Arsenal\u2019s heads having to go to Man City and losing within the cup final to them.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I believe still being there, level on points after that City defeat, and I believe the fixtures are more favourable for Arsenal. I believe they\u2019ll win every game.<\/p>\n

\u2018And I could see City slipping up in a single or two games.<\/p>\n

\u2018I could see Arsenal actually being quite comfortable, I believe possibly three, five points.<\/p>\n

Asked why he believes City will drop points, Rooney replied: \u2018I just do. Listen, Arsenal have been unbelievable, they\u2019ve been top of the league for many of the season.<\/p>\n

\u2018I just think Arsenal have gotten a way of playing which doesn\u2019t catch everyone\u2019s eye.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I just think City, with the games they\u2019ve got, it\u2019s congested, Arsenal have been there all season, I believe it\u2019s their 12 months.\u2019<\/p>\n
