Alexander Volkanovski believes his teammate must have won via submission.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The featherweight champion was within the corner of bantamweight prospect Colby Thicknesse at Saturday\u2019s UFC Perth most important event.<\/p>\n

\u2018Slickness\u2019 was among the many Australian fighters having their hand raised on home soil, as he edged out a detailed decision victory over Vince Morales on the RAC Arena.<\/p>\n

Volkanovski, nevertheless, seemingly thinks his teammate was robbed of a finish.<\/p>\n

Vince Morales responds to assert he tapped out against Alexander Volkanovski\u2019s teammate<\/h2>\n

Thicknesse lost his UFC debut to Aleksandre Topuria but has bounced back with two wins since then. Each triumphs got here on the scorecards, but there was some controversy over the most recent.<\/p>\n

Volkanovski took to social media after his training partner\u2019s victory at UFC Perth, sharing a clip of when Thicknesse had Morales locked in a triangle choke early within the fight.<\/p>\n

\u2018Slickness\u2019 was unable to complete the submission, but \u2018Alexander the Great\u2019 thinks that was all the way down to a referee oversight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew I seen a faucet!\u201d Volkanovski wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Morales addressed Volkanovski\u2019s claim that he was submitted, insisting he didn’t tap out but admitting that he may not have been distant from doing so.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely didn\u2019t tap. Triangle was tight AF though not gonna lie,\u201d Morales wrote in response.<\/p>\n

Fans online have been somewhat split concerning the \u2018tap\u2019 in query.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe tapped his own shoulder. Referee must have been more aware.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m counting this as a sub win.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDoes appear to be a faucet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not a faucet. Get your eyeglasses ol\u2019 man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVince was desirous about it, but I don\u2019t think that was a faucet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re the person Volk, but slow the video down\u2026 there was no tap.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some thought Morales had done enough to earn the win on the judges\u2019 scorecards, but all three scored the prelim fight in favor of the local favorite.<\/p>\n

With that, \u2018Vandetta\u2019s\u2019 place on the UFC roster could also be in danger. The 35-year-old has now lost 4 outings in a row and his last six under the promotion\u2019s banner.<\/p>\n

Between Octagon stints, Morales enjoyed a five-fight winning streak that included championship success in United Fight League.<\/p>\n
