No less than three people were killed when a driver lost control and ploughed into spectators at a\u00a0monster<\/strong>\u00a0truck event.<\/p>\n

Harrowing footage showed the vehicle bouncing over a line of scrap metal before veering right and hurtling into the gang.<\/p>\n

Screams rang out because it mowed down several spectators who were attempting to scramble out of the way in which.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at a\u00a0monster\u00a0truck exhibition in Popayan, Colombia.<\/p>\n

The motive force is believed to have lost control because the modified vehicle landed from a jump, sending it forward, where it hit a lightweight pole. <\/p>\n

Bystanders rushed to assist the injured as emergency crews went to the scene, where a minor was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Two others later died within the hospital, and no less than 38 people have been injured and brought to hospitals across town.<\/p>\n

Local media had not reported the identities of those involved on the time of the newest update.<\/p>\n

Popay\u00e1n\u2019s mayor, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz Bravo, said in a press release: \u2018We\u2019re deeply saddened by the accident within the Boulevard Rose area, which has up to now left greater than 38 people injured and three dead.<\/p>\n

\u2018From the outset as mayor, I\u2019ve made all available resources available to support the victims and their families.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019re working closely with hospitals, emergency services and the authorities to make sure people receive prompt, compassionate and dignified care at this difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve given clear instructions for an intensive investigation.. This could never have happened, and the facts will likely be established with full responsibility and transparency.\u2019<\/p>\n

In 2015, the same incident happened when three people died and 15 more were injured after a monster truck crashed right into a crowd of spectators.<\/p>\n

Video footage showed the truck breaking\u00a0through the security fence just because it was wheeling round and revving its engine in preparation to drive over multiple parked cars.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0took place at a rally in\u00a0Haaksbergen, a town within the eastern Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Haaksbergen\u2019s mayor,\u00a0Hans Gerritsen, told local media that one in every of the fatalities was a toddler,\u00a0in line with\u00a0Sky News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Geerlof Kanis, one in every of the rally\u2019s organisers, told\u00a0RTV Oost<\/a>\u00a0that the security fences were placed sufficiently distant from the vehicles to maintain the gang protected.<\/p>\n
