It\u2019s been a protracted road for developer Unknown Worlds in getting Subnautica 2<\/em> out the door, but that destination is sort of here. An unexpected drama unfolded last 12 months when the previous publisher, Krafton, fired Unknown Worlds\u2019 co-founders and technical director, accusing them of an \u201cabsence of core leadership.\u201d The three individuals alleged that this move was made in order that Krafton could delay the sport\u2019s early access, thus avoiding a $250 million bonus payout to the developers, but this may not be the tip of the story for Unknown World\u2019s try to get the sport out the door.<\/p>\n Per VGC<\/a>, a Delaware court ruled in favor of the developers, declaring that Krafton reinstate Unkown World\u2019s co-founder Ted Gill as its CEO and be given full access to the corporate\u2019s Steam platform. The drama continued because the CEO Krafton had replaced Gill, and immediately announced to staff that the sport can be entering early access in May, something that Gill and other co-founders, Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, disagreed had the authority to do per the court ruling, and are reportedly pursuing legal options.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, at the foundation of all of it is the sequel game, which is officially entering early access on May 14 for $29.99 on Steam.
