Following his win in Perth, Carlos Prates has found himself leaping up the welterweight rankings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This past Saturday at UFC Perth, Jack Della Maddalena and Carlos Prates clashed within the high-profile most important event, with each fighters seeking to insert themselves into the title conversation.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Nightmare\u2019 went on to placed on a flawless display, becoming the primary fighter to complete Della Maddalena within the UFC when the fight was finished within the third round.<\/p>\n

And together with his incredible vicious win, the Brazilian contender has now put himself into welterweight title contention, and he has been rewarded with a giant boost within the rankings.<\/p>\n

Prates moves as much as rank 2 in update as Quillan Salkilld also enters the highest 15<\/h2>\n

After toppling the previous champion who before this fight stood in rank 1, the 32-year-old has moved up three places into rank 2.<\/p>\n

That has subsequently given Ian Machado Garry a surprise boost within the rankings, too, as he now sits at rank 1 within the division, further solidifying his position because the primary contender.<\/p>\n

Islam Makhachev has reportedly \u2018verbally agreed\u2019 to defend his title against the Irishman next, with the fight expected to headline UFC 330 in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Prates likely doesn\u2019t must fight again to secure the title shot after Machado Garry, potentially receiving a title shot before the tip of the yr.<\/p>\n

Welterweight wasn\u2019t the one division during which there was significant movement as several other UFC Perth stars found themselves being given a lift following their performances.<\/p>\n

After ending Beneil Dariush in the primary round, Quillan Salkilld has leaped into the lightweight rankings at rank 12, overtaking the likes of Michael Chandler.<\/p>\n

Following an in depth decision win over veteran Tim Elliot, \u2018Astroboy\u2019 Steve Erceg has once more returned to the highest 10 of the flyweight division.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, potentially most significant is that the heavyweight division has a brand new face in the highest 15 rankings.<\/p>\n

After a formidable display against Shamil Gaziev, Brando Pericic has taken spot 15 within the heavyweight rankings, helping out a division that’s in desperate need of it.<\/p>\n
