Islam Makhachev shared his thoughts on his last opponent\u2019s recent loss in Perth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Prates dominated and finished Jack Della Maddalena at hand the previous champion his second consecutive loss this past weekend.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

Makhachev has said that Prates could be probably the most interesting challenger for him to face next following an incredibly impressive performance.<\/p>\n

The welterweight titleholder also raised some questions on his former foe, because of being very acquainted with his skillset.<\/p>\n

Islam Makhachev questions Jack Della Maddalena\u2019s preparations following Carlos Prates loss<\/h2>\n

When Islam Makhachev dominated Jack Della Maddalena to win the welterweight title, his wrestling was the most important factor.<\/p>\n

A more favorable matchup against fellow striker Carlos Prates resulted in a fair more punishing defeat for the previous welterweight champion.<\/p>\n

Having fought him in November, Makhachev knows where Della Maddalena is at his best but didn\u2019t see that side of him in Perth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact I used to be watching it, I used to be watching it live. Apparently Maddalena couldn’t collect himself,\u201d Makhachev told Red Corner MMA. \u201cPossibly he hasn\u2019t fully recovered from the last defeat. He couldn\u2019t find his range. I even have studied his fights rather a lot before we fought. He gets close, changes levels, and throws but this time around, he just got close and took shots. Prates did a wonderful job.\u201d <\/p>\n

Belal Muhammad predicted that Prates would beat Della Maddalena because of something he picked out from his former opponent\u2019s loss to Makhachev last 12 months.<\/p>\n

Because the Russian champion suggested, \u2018JDM\u2019 is dangerous along with his boxing in close but \u2018The Nightmare\u2019 was in a position to counter that in several ways.<\/p>\n

His leg kicks did a variety of damage at range, while he also connected with several highly impactful knees when Della Maddalena got near him.<\/p>\n

While the Aussie is at his best when he\u2019s landing regular combos, Prates was in a position to land greater than double the quantity of serious strikes (104 to 41) throughout the bout.<\/p>\n
