Matthew Fairburn<\/a><\/strong>: Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Carrick said that he has an unusual hockey injury and that he didn\u2019t break any bones. His \u2018recovery\u2019 was said to be either 4 to 6 weeks or six to eight weeks. Coach Lindy Ruff said that Carrick is days away from with the ability to return to the lineup.<\/p>\n

Rachel Lenzi<\/a><\/strong>: Sabres forward Noah Ostlund is out for the second round with a lower-body injury.<\/p>\n

Walt Ruff<\/a><\/strong>: Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brind\u2019Amour said that defenseman Alexander Nikishin has been cleared from concussion protocol and is cleared to play.<\/p>\n

The Hurricanes practice on Wednesday after which play Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Kurt Dusterberg<\/strong><\/a>: Brind\u2019Amour said that they\u2019ve been cautious with Nikishkin, that he\u2019s been practicing, and could possibly be an option.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a pair good practices. If he gives us the green light, then that provides us the choice to place him in obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: What Will Occur to Edmonton Oilers Coach Kris Knoblauch?<\/a><\/p>\n

Taylor Baird<\/a><\/strong>: Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz said that he tore his hamstring in two spots and that he had a setback in his recovery. It wasn\u2019t a typical injury, so there wasn\u2019t lots that could possibly be done to hurry up the recovery. Hintz confirmed that the injury happened when he was battling with Avs Nathan MacKinnon along the boards.<\/p>\n

Tracey Myers of NHL.com<\/a><\/strong>: Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin and forward Joel Eriksson Ek have missed the primary two games of round two with lower-body injuries. Each can be re-evaluated before Saturday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Erik Erlendsson<\/a><\/strong>: Tampa Bay Lightning GM Julien BriseBois said that forward Pontus Holmberg broke his clavicle when he hit the penalty box door in Buffalo.<\/p>\n

There have been no other injury issues throughout the playoffs, and there was no indication that anyone will need a procedure or surgery this offseason.<\/p>\n

There may be one unnamed player, though, who’s being evaluated.<\/p>\n
