A video message from Prince William praising the remarkable growth of the ladies\u2019s game and the people driving its success each on and off the pitch will open the 2026 Women\u2019s Football Awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

Recorded at Kensington Palace, the special address was created after the Prince was unable to attend the ceremony in person on account of diary commitments. <\/p>\n

In his message, he applauds the achievements of players and acknowledges the dedication of those working tirelessly behind the scenes to raise women\u2019s football to recent heights.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m delighted to send my warmest congratulations to everyone involved within the 2026 Women\u2019s Football Awards.\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

\u2018This event celebrates not only remarkable sporting achievement, but in addition the dedication, resilience and leadership that continues to drive the ladies\u2019s game forwards, from grass roots to the very top.<\/p>\n

\u2018Women\u2019s football has seen extraordinary growth lately but that progress is a results of the players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who imagine in its power to encourage and unite communities.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Women\u2019s Football Awards, in partnership with Metro, Europe\u2019s biggest awards event dedicated to the ladies\u2019s game, returns for its third 12 months following its launch in 2023. <\/p>\n

This 12 months\u2019s glittering ceremony, headline sposnored by Shein, takes place tomorrow and shall be co-hosted by football legend Jamie Carragher, renowned BBC Sport presenter Gabby Logan, and former Lioness Lianne Sanderson.<\/p>\n

Former Lioness Sanderson said: \u2018Prince William\u2019s support for ladies\u2019s football has been unbelievable. Having him take the time to record such a thoughtful message really shows how much he cares concerning the growth of the sport.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s a well known football fan, so it\u2019s great to have his support for the event and for ladies\u2019s football as an entire,\u2019 former Liverpool and England defender Carragher added. <\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s ceremony will bring together among the biggest names in the game, including Bunny Shaw, Alex Greenwood, Millie Vivid and Maya Le Tissier. <\/p>\n

They shall be joined by a bunch of celebrity guests comparable to Jordan Henderson, Denise Van Outen, Carol Vorderman and Roman Kemp.<\/p>\n

The Women\u2019s Football Awards continues to shine a highlight on excellence across the sport, celebrating the players, teams, and industry figures who’re shaping the longer term of ladies\u2019s football across Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n

The Women\u2019s Football Awards is sponsored by online fashion retailer Shein, which has dressed stars for the event, alongside Scottish Power, and logistics company DSV. Luxury holiday company Destinology is providing exclusive holiday experiences for chosen award winners.<\/p>\n
