The team parted ways with Jenkins within the offseason and signed Rhyan to a three-year, $33MM extension, effectively guaranteeing him a starting job in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 third-round pick lined up exclusively at left tackle at UCLA and converted to right guard within the NFL. Rhyan held the starting job for the complete 2024 season and retained it heading into 2025. Nonetheless, he was benched in Week 5 after allowing 10 pressures and committing three penalties across the previous three games, per Pro Football Focus (<a href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/nfl\/players\/2025\/REGPO\/sean-rhyan\/72009\/offense-blocking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subscription required<\/a>). The Packers\u2019 offensive line injuries kept him in the combination at each guard spots until Week 10, when he took over at center. He surrendered 17 pressures and nil sacks to shut out the 12 months, though he still earned low pass blocking grades from PFF.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAfter we lost Elgton [Jenkins], he stepped up and just sort of took control of it,\u201d<\/em> Stenavich said. <em>\u201cThere have been mistakes, needless to say, but as we progressed through the season, he just kept convalescing and higher and higher.\u201d<\/em> The fifth-year coordinator noted that Rhyan is probably going best at center and praised his ability to handle the pre-snap duties of the position.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt was good to observe him on the market take command of the offense, making the calls and getting us arrange front,\u201d<\/em> Stenavich added.<\/p>\n<p>In other Packers offensive line news, general manager <strong>Brian<\/strong> <strong>Gutekunst<\/strong> confirmed (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RobDemovsky\/status\/2046626845055979617\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">via ESPN\u2019s Rob Demovsky<\/a>) that right tackle <strong>Zach<\/strong> <strong>Tom<\/strong> underwent knee surgery within the offseason. The 27-year-old handled an oblique injury early within the 12 months and later suffered a partially torn patellar tendon that ended his season.
