Fear is growing over the delicate ceasefire within the Iran war after reports of fireplace within the region and across Iran. <\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s state broadcaster described explosions within the Strait as an \u2018exchange of fireplace\u2019 between Iranian forces and the \u2018enemy.\u2019<\/p>\n
Blasts were heard within the ports of Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas port. <\/p>\n
An unnamed American official told NBC News that the US carried out strikes on not less than two locations in Iran. <\/p>\n
They didn’t constitute the restarting of major fighting against Iran, the official insisted. <\/p>\n
Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/strong> newsletter or get Breaking News <\/strong>alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n The US Central Command said in a press release: \u2018U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, May 7.<\/p>\n \u2018Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones and small boats as USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87) transited the international sea passage. No U.S. assets were struck.<\/p>\n \u2018U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities chargeable for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes.<\/p>\n \u2018CENTCOM doesn’t seek escalation but stays positioned and able to protect American forces.\u2019<\/p>\n Within the capital Tehran, air defences are said to have been activated, Iran\u2019s IRIB broadcaster said. <\/p>\n Earlier today, Tasnim news agency with links to the regime, said Iranian forces clashed with the US Navy following an attempted attack on an Iranian oil tanker. <\/p>\n The US Central Command has declined to comment on the claims. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, talks to finish the conflict are supposed to proceed between the US and Iran. <\/p>\n Pakistan, which has been a mediator within the peace talks, put out a press release today through its foreign ministry, saying it expects an agreement to be reached \u2018sooner quite than later.\u2019 <\/p>\n Got a story?
