Sam Allardyce says Harry Maguire should consider rejecting an England call-up for the World Cup after Thomas Tuchel\u2019s \u2018harsh\u2019 comments on the Manchester United defender.<\/p>\n

Maguire, 33, was included in Tuchel\u2019s expanded 35-man squad for the friendlies with Uruguay and Japan back in March.<\/p>\n

Following Maguire\u2019s England recall, Three Lions boss Tuchel said on the time: \u2018As I said, that is the last camp before the trip to the US, so it\u2019s also my final probability to get to know recent players, to find out about them and see how they slot in.<\/p>\n

\u2018Harry isn\u2019t a brand new player in an England shirt, after all, but he\u2019s recent to me on this camp.<\/p>\n

\u2018I would like to look at how he interacts with other players, see him on the pitch, understand what he\u2019s able to, and gather enough insight to clarify decisions.\u2019<\/p>\n

Tuchel was less praiseworthy of Maguire after England\u2019s draw with Uruguay and said he was his fifth-choice for the centre-back position going into the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Assessing Maguire\u2019s performance, Tuchel said: \u2018I got exactly what I assumed, solid, solid central-defender play.<\/p>\n

\u2018That\u2019s what he does. Excellent on the ball, very calm, strong within the air and within the weapon for set-pieces.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2018I haven\u2019t modified my mind, but I see other players I like to begin for us, I see other players ahead with a special profile.<\/p>\n

\u2018I see Ezri Konsa ahead, I see Marc Guehi ahead. It\u2019s no secret. I see Trevoh Chalobah on the extent of mobility was barely ahead of him. Also John Stones, but he had injuries, so he needed to return to camp.<\/p>\n

\u2018I needed to satisfy him in person to see how he acts throughout the group. It’ll be interesting now to see how he acts throughout the group.<\/p>\n

\u2018Like I said, he has an asset, after all, that he can be super vital in a tournament, in knockout football, in defending a lead and chasing a game with crosses and long throw-ins and set-pieces.\u2019<\/p>\n

Asked whether Maguire could be within the England squad if it was named back then, Tuchel added: \u2018If, if, if. We don\u2019t must name the squad tomorrow. He did an excellent game.<\/p>\n

\u2018He did what he does for Man Utd. He did it immediately. I\u2019m very completely satisfied with him. To be honest, I haven\u2019t modified my mind. I got all the things I expected from him.<\/p>\n

\u2018If I actually have to call it tomorrow, we now have loads of injuries, he may very well be in it. Who else could be there within the centre of defence?\u2019<\/p>\n

Allardyce felt Tuchel\u2019s comments were \u2018a bit harsh\u2019 and says Maguire should \u2018reconsider\u2019 his availability for England ahead of this summer\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a bit harsh,\u2019 Allardyce told Footy Accumulators. \u2018Harry endured such a difficult time at Manchester United when the club tried to belittle him \u2013 especially the manager on the time.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s lost his captaincy, his place within the England squad,\u00a0and has been criticised so heavily in the previous few years.\u00a0He\u2019s taken every criticism\u00a0on the chin and is proving everyone improper.<\/p>\n

\u2018If I used to be in Harry\u2019s position, I\u2019d reconsider going with the camp in any respect. Perhaps to his own detriment, Harry has said that Tuchel\u2019s comments would cause no problem and it makes\u00a0you ponder whether he\u2019s too nice!\u2019<\/p>\n

Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, accused Tuchel of \u2018insulting\u2019 Maguire along with his comments in the course of the international break.<\/p>\n
