Seven British people disembarked from the hantavirus-hit ship mid-way through the cruise alongside a lady who later died, it has emerged.<\/p>\n
Authorities are looking for 29 individuals who left the ship when it docked within the distant South Atlantic island of St Helena after the primary victim died.<\/p>\n
Seven of the passengers are British, six are from the US, three are from the Netherlands, two are from Turkey, two are Canadian and two are Swiss. <\/p>\n
There may be also one person each from: Germany, Denmark, Latest Zealand, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Latest Zealand, Sweden and Sigapore. <\/p>\n
The nationalities of two other disembarked passengers is unknown. <\/p>\n
An Oceanwide Expeditions spokesperson said: \u2018We are able to confirm Oceanwide Expeditions can confirm that on 1 April 2026, 114 guests boarded m\/v Hondius in Ushuaia, Argentina.<\/p>\n
\u201930 guests disembarked m\/v Hondius <\/em>on Saint Helena on 24 April 2026. This number includes the body of the guest who passed away on board m\/v Hondius <\/em>on 11 April 2026. The primary confirmed case of hantavirus was not reported until 4 May 2026.
