What are the symptoms?<\/h3>\n

Early symptoms of hantavirus\u00a0are much like the flu, and include headaches, dizziness, chills in addition to abdominal problems like diarrhoea, vomiting and nausea.<\/p>\n

If it progresses into Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, patients can experience headaches, dizziness, chills and abdominal problems like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea.<\/p>\n

Maria Van Kerkhove from the WHO said: \u2018This isn’t SARS-CoV two, this isn’t the beginning of a Covid pandemic \u2013 that is an outbreak that we see on a ship, there may be a confined area.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Pharmacist Thorrun Govind told Metro that it’s \u2018very rare\u2019 for hantavirus to spread from individual to individual, adding that that is \u2018not like Covid or flu.\u2019<\/p>\n

All eyes are following the movements of MV\u00a0Hondius\u00a0Antarctic cruise\u00a0after cases of hantavirus broke out, resulting in deaths of three people and a scramble to evacuate other cases from the doomed ship because it sails towards the Canary Islands. <\/p>\n

Nevertheless, protesters in Tenerife are up in arms about the potential of MV Hondius docking on the island. <\/p>\n
