Makati Medical Center (MMC) is strengthening its preventive care offerings with the launch of its Wellness Hub, a one-stop, full-service outpatient screening facility that gives comprehensive health services in a more comfortable, patient-friendly setting.<\/p>\n
The MakatiMed Wellness Hub is positioned on the seventh Floor of Ayala North Exchange Tower 1, just a brief walk from its principal hospital complex, providing a more relaxed ambience while maintaining easy accessibility to the middle\u2019s consultants.<\/p>\n
The power has a complete floor area of 1,157 square meters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis can be a program of MMC that gives holistic and compassionate care, with a powerful emphasis on comfort and convenience,\u201d Saturnino P. Javier, medical director and interim co-president and chief executive officer (CEO) of MMC, said throughout the hub\u2019s exclusive media briefing on Thursday.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut ultimately, it’s guided by the standard and safety standards for which MMC is understood,\u201d he added, noting the hub\u2019s key differentiation from its counterparts.<\/p>\n
The MakatiMed Wellness Hub also consolidates the middle\u2019s preventive care services, which were previously tougher for patients to navigate inside the hospital, Arlyn L. Songco, senior vice chairman and division head of creative, communications, and sales services at MMC, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s now outside the hospital in a really nice, relaxing environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The hub offers services similar to executive health checkups, cardiac screening, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, primary care vaccinations, dermatologic and laser procedures, and mental wellness services.<\/p>\n
Ms. Songco said that the wide selection of services might be availed of by patients of all ages.<\/p>\n
BusinessWorld had the chance to tour the Wellness Hub. Amongst its highlights is the dermatology and laser area, which includes a state-of-the-art machine that maps moles across the body to assist in the early detection of possible skin cancer.<\/p>\n
Eunice B. Mocas, department manager of the MakatiMed Wellness Hub, said that the value for executive health checkups starts at P20,000, which already includes the \u201cBasic 5\u201d laboratory tests and assessment: physical examination, complete blood count, urinalysis, stool examination, chest X-ray, and chemistry panel.<\/p>\n
She also said that packages will probably be offered and tailored to the needs and demographics of patients.<\/p>\n
Since its inception, the MakatiMed Wellness Hub outpatient facility has been serving around 100 patients a day during lean months, Ms. Songco said. \u2014 Edg Adrian A.
