Real Madrid have punished Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni with a \u20ac500,000 (\u00a3432,100) nice each after their training ground fight this week.<\/p>\n
Valverde was sent to hospital on Thursday after he clashed with Tchouameni\u00a0within the dressing room following a dispute through the training session.<\/p>\n
The Uruguay international hit his head on a table through the confrontation and suffered a cut which was treated by medical staff in hospital. He’ll now miss Madrid\u2019s game against Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday.<\/p>\n
A press release from Madrid on Friday read: \u2018Real Madrid C. F. pronounces that, following the events that led to the disciplinary proceedings initiated yesterday against our players Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, each appeared today before the investigator assigned to the case.<\/p>\n
\u2018During their appearance, the players expressed their complete remorse for what happened and apologized to one another.<\/p>\n \u2018Moreover, they prolonged their apologies to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans, and each have made themselves available to Real Madrid to just accept whatever sanction the club deems appropriate.<\/p>\n \u2018Under these circumstances, Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of 5 hundred thousand euros on each player, thereby concluding the corresponding internal procedures.\u2019<\/p>\n In his statement, Valverde insists he was not struck by Tchouameni and told Madrid supporters he’s \u2018truly sorry for this example\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018Yesterday, I had an incident with a teammate stemming from a play during training, a situation where the fatigue of competition and sheer frustration caused every thing to get blown out of proportion,\u2019 Valverde said.<\/p>\n \u2018Today, we had one other run-in. Throughout the argument, I by chance struck a table, sustaining a small cut on my brow that required a routine visit to the hospital.<\/p>\n \u2018My teammate [Tchouameni] didn\u2019t hit me, nor did I hit him. Although I understand that for you it is perhaps easier to consider that we beat the hell out of one another or that he intentionally injured me, that just isn’t what happened.<\/p>\n \u2018I’m truly sorry for this example. It gives me pain. It hurts to see what we’re currently going through.<\/p>\n \u2018Real Madrid is one of the necessary things in my life, and I cannot remain indifferent to it.
