Vonn donned white pants and a black jacket. She walked with crutches amid her recovery from her scary crash on the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy in February.<\/p>\n
While neither Vonn nor Bailet have addressed their connection, they do follow one another on social media. They’re each alpine ski racers and have competed in the game\u2019s world cup quite a few times.<\/p>\n
Along with her outing with Bailet, Vonn attended the Met Gala earlier this week. The Olympian ditched her crutches for the primary time since her Olympics crash. Vonn stunned in a custom Thom Browne gown for the event.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the annual fundraiser, Vonn spoke about how necessary it was for her to attend the event without her crutches.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in such a distinct world, especially since my crash,\u201d she told Vogue<\/em> ahead of the Met Gala. \u201cThat is form of my coming-out party \u2014 I get to be around people, wearing a dress that\u2019s beautiful and female, and put my crutches down for the primary time.\u201d<\/p>\nVonn continued, \u201cMonday might be the primary few steps that I take \u2014 definitely first stairs \u2014 without crutches. I\u2019m excited, for a lot of reasons, to get to that time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vonn suffered a compound fracture and tibial plateau fracture in her left leg after crashing on the Milano Cortina Games. She underwent multiple surgeries, including one to avoid wasting her leg after suffering compartment syndrome.<\/p>\n
Days before her crash on the Olympics, Vonn tore her ACL during her race on the World Cup in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Despite the injury, she decided to still compete within the Olympics after undergoing physical tests.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually have determined I’m able to competing within the Olympic Downhill on Sunday. In fact I’ll still have to do one training run, as is required to race on Sunday, but\u2026 I’m confident in my body\u2019s ability to perform,\u201d she said ahead of the race. \u201cDespite my injuries my knee is stable, I would not have swelling and my muscles are firing and reacting as they need to. I’ll obviously be continuing to judge with my medical team each day to be certain we’re making smart decisions but I actually have every intention of competing on Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following her multiple surgeries, Vonn launched into an intense rehab plan that included hyperbaric chamber sessions and a workout regimen.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll this stuff, it took time,\u201d she said. \u201cThere have been so many layers to it. That made it difficult. After which after all, when you’ve such slow progress, that inevitably becomes more mentally difficult as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
