Steven Soderbergh<\/strong> may never have gotten to make his \u201cStar Wars\u201d movie starring Adam Driver<\/strong>, but that\u2019s not going to slow him down. While promoting his latest movie \u201cThe Christophers,\u201d the Oscar-winning director revealed that the project, tentatively titled \u201cThe Hunt for Ben Solo,\u201d was \u201cgoing to be the most important thing\u201d that he had ever attempted to make.<\/p>\n

In October 2025, Adam Driver revealed that he planned to return to a galaxy far, distant together with his character, Ben Solo, who was redeemed from the dark side and ultimately died in 2019\u2019s \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker.\u201d Although Lucasfilm initially seemed on board with the concept, Driver claimed Disney CEO Bob Iger scrapped the film after he didn\u2019t see how Ben Solo could come back to life.<\/p>\n

Soderbergh has since expressed \u201cfrustration\u201d and \u201cdisappointment\u201d that the project was scrapped, telling BK Mag<\/a> \u201cthat was two and a half years of free work for me and Adam and [writer] Rebecca Blunt.\u201d<\/p>\n
