He claimed producers would have pursued legal motion against him had he refused to return to set, despite ongoing health concerns on the time.<\/p>\n

At the identical time, Alec continues to be facing ongoing legal challenges connected to the tragedy. A judge recently ruled that a civil lawsuit tied to the \u201cRust\u201d shooting incident can move forward toward trial.<\/p>\n

As reported by The Blast<\/em>, the case was brought by lighting technician Serge Svetnoy, who alleges that Alec and the film\u2019s production team did not follow proper firearm safety procedures on set.<\/p>\n

Svetnoy claims he was standing near Hutchins, only a couple of feet away behind a monitor, while Alec rehearsed a cross-draw maneuver when the revolver discharged.<\/p>\n

Within the lawsuit, Svetnoy argued there \u201cwas no reason for a live bullet to be placed in that .45 Colt revolver or to be present anywhere on the Rust set,\u201d calling the weapon a \u201clethal threat to everyone in its vicinity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe realized that he had been squarely within the zone of danger posed by the loaded weapon in Defendant Baldwin\u2019s hand, and what he felt pass by him from the discharge of the Colt Revolver was not mere pressurized air,\u201d the lawsuit read. \u201cBut for an inch or two, possibly less, that bullet could have ended his life.\u201d<\/p>\n
