Daniel Levy says he’s \u2018feeling the pain\u2019 with Spurs\u2019 relegation battle (Sky Sports)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Former Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy admits he \u2018could never have envisaged\u2019 the prospect of Spurs being relegated from the Premier League this season.<\/p>\n

Spurs currently sit two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham with two Premier League games remaning.<\/p>\n

Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side travel to Chelsea next Tuesday but might be within the relegation zone this weekend if West Ham win away to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Levy, meanwhile, was at Windsor Castle on Wednesday as he was made a CBE by the Prince of Wales for services to charity and the community in Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The 64-year-old had been accountable for Tottenham for nearly 25 years before his shock departure in September.<\/p>\n

\u2018All I\u2019m focused on is ensuring Tottenham stay within the Premier League,\u2019 Levy told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n

\u2018I could never have envisaged this initially of the season. Obviously incredibly dissatisfied.<\/p>\n

\u2018But let\u2019s hope, let\u2019s look forward and really much hope that next season we\u2019re still within the Premier League.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m feeling the pain but I\u2019m optimistic we\u2019ll get through it. It\u2019s been very, very difficult, but Spurs is in my blood and as I said, I\u2019m hopeful we\u2019ll be okay ultimately.\u2019<\/p>\n

Asked in regards to the prospect of Spurs\u2019 facing Chelsea of their penultimate game of the season, Levy said: \u2018All the time tough, never place for us but hopefully this 12 months goes to be different.\u2019<\/p>\n
