Formula One has rescheduled the\u00a0Montreal\u00a0race from mid-June to May 24 to be able to reduce travel and environmental impact by moving the event closer to the Miami Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Canadian Grand Prix spokesperson Sandrine Garneau says staff were capable of start mounting the track facilities in the autumn as an alternative of the spring to accommodate the sooner date.<\/p>\n

She says the weather in late May traditionally hasn\u2019t been much colder than in June, but organizers are also ensuring hospitality structures are suited to either extreme heat or cold, rainy weather.<\/p>\n
The sooner date also raises the opportunity of an overlap with the NHL playoffs, if the Canadiens advance past the Buffalo Sabres to the Eastern Conference Final.<\/p>\n

Garneau says she\u2019s hoping as a fan that the Habs win, but admits that having each events in\u00a0Montreal\u00a0at the identical time would raise logistical challenges that organizers are already readying for.<\/p>\n
