The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to implement stricter disciplinary rules and tighter access-control measures in the course of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season after several incidents sparked concerns over security breaches and violations of anti-corruption protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe’re forced to issue guidelines on this season of IPL. And We saw many incidents which makes the board uncomfortable. We’re in talks with IPL franchises to make sure no untoward incidents occur again. There was a lot of indiscipline on this IPL,\u201d a BCCI source told ANI on Tuesday.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The most recent move comes just days after BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla revealed that the board was drafting latest rules to control player access and forestall unauthorised interactions in hotels, team buses, and other secure zones in the course of the tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking in Lucknow last week, Shukla said the steps were being introduced to enhance transparency and reinforce the league\u2019s integrity system.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe access that the players have can be controlled; unauthorised people won’t be allowed to fulfill the players, neither in hotels nor on buses, to make sure the transparency of the IPL,\u201d he had said.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia had earlier raised concerns over what he described as \u201canomalies and irregularities\u201d involving players, franchise representatives, and outsiders in the course of the tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n Saikia stated that the board had noticed multiple cases of unauthorised individuals accompanying team members, entering team hotels, and even getting access to the rooms of players and officials \u2014 actions considered a transparent breach of the IPL\u2019s anti-corruption rules.<\/span><\/p>\n He also identified that some franchise owners and officials were seen meeting players in restricted areas where such interactions aren’t allowed under tournament guidelines.
