Examples include open-source projects resembling\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenClaw\">OpenClaw<\/a>\u00a0and Hermes, which were built to offer frameworks for AI agents that may act as 24\/7 personal assistants and connect with LLMs resembling OpenAI Group PBC\u2019s GPT models or Claude.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233117\":false,\"134233118\":false,\"335551550\":1,\"335551620\":1,\"335559738\":240,\"335559739\":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Wednesday, on the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ClaudeDevs\/status\/2054610152817619388\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">ClaudeDev\u00a0X\u00a0account<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Anthropic said that each paid tier, starting June 15, will gain a special \u201cprogrammatic credit pool\u201d that can refill every month and permit users to attract token credits for agentic use.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233117\":false,\"134233118\":false,\"335551550\":1,\"335551620\":1,\"335559738\":240,\"335559739\":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Starting at $20 monthly for the bottom tier and going as much as $200 for Max 20x, this can allow users to attach their third-party agentic tools to Claude and use it as a \u201cbrain\u201d until their credits run out. Nonetheless, last month, Boris Cherny, head of Claude Code at Anthropic,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bcherny\/status\/2040206440556826908\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">announced that the corporate was cutting off access<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to third-party agent frameworks via the subscription and directed users to the Anthropic API, which runs on a per-credit basis.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233117\":false,\"134233118\":false,\"335551550\":1,\"335551620\":1,\"335559738\":240,\"335559739\":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This move led to steeper monthly costs for users. It was a test that the corporate quickly pulled back from after headlines and consumer backlash.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233117\":false,\"134233118\":false,\"335551550\":1,\"335551620\":1,\"335559738\":240,\"335559739\":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Although the credits change\u00a0opens up\u00a0OpenClaw\u00a0users to Claude once more, not all users find Anthropic\u2019s move benevolent. Personal subscriptions could also be useful for experimentation, but production agents that run repeatedly, call tools and reason across long workflows may increasingly must live inside\u00a0rationed\u00a0environments with budget controls,\u00a0monitoring\u00a0and predictable limits.
