Colin Jost<\/strong> might need unintentionally manifested the wild moment Pete Hegseth<\/strong> quoted the Bible verse from Pulp Fiction<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were talking within the writers room, we were pitching ideas for one in all the cold opens like two months ago,\u201d the Saturday Night Live<\/em> star, 43, said during a Thursday, May 14, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd I used to be like, \u2018Would it not be funny if Hegseth just did that bible verse that they’ve in Pulp Fiction.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Jost, who has been impersonating the Secretary of War on the variability show all season, shared that he and the writers \u201ctalked about it\u201d making the fictional scenario a part of the cold open but thought it might be \u201ctoo ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Little did they know, art would imitate life and Hegseth, 45, would do that very same exact thing Jost allegedly pitched.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter which, he for-real did it \u2026 like two weeks later!\u201d Jost shared. \u201cAnd I used to be like, \u2018Well, the excellent news is, I\u2019m being surveilled.\u2019 So, that\u2019s a relief.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, Hegseth spoke at a \u201cFaith in Military\u201d event on the Pentagon and recited Samuel L. Jackson\u2019s speech and fictional Bible verse from Pulp Fiction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey call it CSAR 25:17, which I believe is supposed to reflect Ezekiel 25:17,\u201d Hegseth began. \u201cIt reads \u2014 and pray with me please \u2014 \u2018The trail of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Secretary of War continued, \u201cBlessed is he who within the name of camaraderie and duty shepherds the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is actually his brother\u2019s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I’ll strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those that try and capture and destroy my brother, and you’ll know my call sign is Sandy 1 once I lay my vengeance upon thee.\u2019 Amen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hegseth\u2019s moment went viral after many realized he quoted Quentin Tarantino<\/strong>\u2019s fictional version of Ezekiel 25:17. Within the film, Jackson\u2019s character Jules recites verse before he and his partner-in-crime Vincent Vega (John Travolta<\/strong>) execute a shady crook.<\/p>\n
