Drones have hit a United Nations humanitarian convoy carrying supplies to war-torn areas\u00a0of Ukraine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The help vehicles marked with the\u00a0recognisable\u00a0UN emblem were targeted in Kherson, southern Ukraine, while taking food to residents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since deleted footage posted on a Russian Telegram channel showed the drone aiming on the UN four-by-four automobile on the road. <\/p>\n

One other clip, filmed from inside a vehicle behind it, shows the automobile being hit.<\/p>\n

The incident is claimed to have happened within the Ostrov neighbourhood and carried out by a remotely piloted drone. <\/p>\n

A since-deleted post claimed that the drone was operated by the unmanned systems unit within the 18th Combined Arms Army embedded within the Dnepr military group, in response to Militarnyi<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Within the immediate aftermath of the attack, UN personnel travelling within the convoy are said to have stated they didn\u2019t immediately know who was behind it. <\/p>\n

Since then, the UN Secretary-General, Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, has raised the alarm over two Russian strikes in Kherson on Thursday, which breached international law. <\/p>\n

His office said: \u2018The Secretary-General is alarmed that a United Nations vehicle was struck twice in Kherson city in Ukraine on 14 May.<\/p>\n

\u2018The clearly-marked vehicle was a part of an inter-agency humanitarian mission, led by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, that had been notified to the parties well prematurely.\u2019<\/p>\n

Russia occupied Kherson\u00a0city\u00a0for around eight months in 2022 before\u00a0it was\u00a0liberated, but\u00a0parts of the Kherson Oblast remain under siege.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
