Keyshawn Davis says he still doesn’t know why a fight with Devin Haney never happened after conversations earlier this yr between the 2 camps.<\/p>\n

Davis talked about Haney after dominating Nahir Albright over 12 rounds of their rematch on Saturday night in Norfolk. Although Keyshawn was victorious over Albright with a large, unanimous decision, he admitted afterward that he had been pursuing larger fights before the rematch was finalized.<\/p>\n

\u201cJanuary, I walked as much as Bill, and he told me to face on my word after the fight,\u201d Keyshawn said to the media afterward. \u201cWhy that didn\u2019t occur, I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Davis also revealed that he attempted to secure fights against Lamont Roach Jr. and Oscar Duarte before returning against Albright.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to be on the phone with Lamont Roach attempting to make it occur,\u201d Davis said. \u201cI also was attempting to get involved with Oscar Duarte.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Norfolk native made clear after the fight that he viewed the Albright rematch as a lesser option in comparison with the opponents he originally wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI desired to fight a greater opponent,\u201d Davis said. \u201cHe\u2019s actually an honest fighter. He\u2019s just not on that top level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis dominated many of the rematch despite a two-point deduction after slamming Albright to the canvas during a clinch within the seventh round. He controlled the motion with faster hands, cleaner mixtures, and stronger work late within the fight.<\/p>\n

After the victory, Davis again repeated that he’s open to facing larger names next.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever is willing to fight the businessman, let\u2019s make it occur,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n
