A farmer in Australia was in for a surprise after he found a live frog in a bag of lettuce.<\/p>\n

Rhys Smoker had been preparing a steak and salad dinner for his friends in Esperance, Western Australia, when he spotted the frog among the many leaves contained in the sealed plastic bag he had bought from a supermarket.<\/p>\n

His housemate, Laura Jones, said: \u2018He\u2019s like, \u2018Oh bro, there\u2019s a frog within the lettuce\u2019. And we\u2019re like, \u2018No, you\u2019re taking the mick, like that\u2019s not real\u2019.\u2019<\/p>\n

Mr Smoker brought the bag into the lounge room to point out Ms Jones and her partner, Billy Le Pine.<\/p>\n

\u2018Obviously, there\u2019s a little bit frog hiding out and, yeah, all of us had a little bit laugh about it,\u2019 Ms Jones said.<\/p>\n

Mr Le Pine said they named the frog Greg before releasing it at a pond near the home.<\/p>\n

Crazy Frog is a Swedish CGI-animated character and Eurodance musician.<\/p>\n

Mr Smoker and his partner, Lilli Ashby, had bought the lettuce at a Woolworths supermarket in Esperance the identical day Greg was discovered.<\/p>\n

Five years ago, a consumer confronted a three-metre-long non-venomous diamond python on a shelf of a Woolworths supermarket in Sydney.<\/p>\n

Also in 2021, a consumer discovered a venomous pale-headed snake wrapped in plastic with lettuce in an Aldi supermarket in Sydney.<\/p>\n

Woolworths said the frog within the salad was an isolated incident and there had been no other similar cases reported.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our teams are investigating this with our suppliers as a priority,\u2019 a Woolworths statement said.<\/p>\n
