Chinese President Xi Jinping told Donald Trump that Russia might come to \u2018regret\u2019 invading Ukraine during talks in Beijing.<\/p>\n

It is believed the remarks were made in the course of the US president\u2019s summit in China last week, where the 2 world leaders are thought to have discussed plenty of issues, including trade and the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

A source aware of Xi\u2019s previous meetings with former president Joe Biden told said these comments were unprecedented for the Chinese leader, who hadn\u2019t previously offered an assessment of the Ukraine war, in accordance with the Financial Times.<\/p>\n

The revelation comes as Vladimir Putin, an in depth ally of Xi, flew to Beijing for talks with the world leader.<\/p>\n

The Russian President has doubled down on his onslaught in Ukraine despite claiming he wants \u2018peace\u2019 and expressing his \u2018regret\u2019 at starting the war.<\/p>\n

Putin, in a message to the Chinese people, said: \u2018We don’t ally ourselves against anyone, but reasonably work for peace and universal prosperity.\u2019<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the Kremlin boss went on to launch one other savage attack on Ukraine near the border with Romania, sending NATO warplanes within the country scrambling.<\/p>\n

An announcement from Romania\u2019s military command said: \u2018Russian forces carried out a brand new series of drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, within the vicinity of the river border with Romania, in Tulcea county.\u2019<\/p>\n

There have also been reports that Putin is planning a summer offensive in Ukraine\u2019s Donbas region \u2013 but some consider it is a front for a limited invasion within the Baltic States, to check NATO.<\/p>\n

Last week, it was reported that Russia is stockpiling tons of of 1000’s of fibre-optic drones for a future assault on NATO and the Baltic States.<\/p>\n

Reports from Ukrainian and Russian intelligence have shown that Putin diverted huge numbers of next-generation FPV drones away from the Ukrainian front and into rear depots since late 2025.<\/p>\n

The Kremlin may have already got amassed as much as 130,000 fibre-optic drones, a stockpile that would rise to 200,000 by the tip of\u00a0summer.<\/p>\n

FPV drones are especially dangerous because they use hair-thin fibre-optic cables reasonably than\u00a0radio signals, making them far harder to jam electronically by NATO defences.<\/p>\n

Russian military insiders\u00a0consider the weapons could overwhelm\u00a0Estonia,\u00a0Latvia\u00a0and\u00a0Lithuania\u00a0within the opening stages of an assault designed to shock Europe into submission before NATO can fully react.<\/p>\n

The Kremlin sees the Baltic states as uniquely vulnerable because, although they possess advanced electronic warfare capabilities, they lack\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s combat experience with mass drone warfare.<\/p>\n
