Ryan Paton: \u201cHenrik and Daniel Sedin had some comments on Elias Pettersson. They were asked about him within the off-season and preparation, and whether or not they were directly or not directly to him, saying, \u201cYou realize what, everyone must be prepped and able to go by the point training camp comes. He\u2019s going to be under the gun again, as he has been for somewhat while here. Where do you’re thinking that this recent position with Daniel and Henrik, and even Ryan Johnson coming in, do you’re thinking that that\u2019s going to be thing, hopefully for Pettersson, whatever he\u2019s going through?\u201d<\/p>\n

Irf Gaffar: \u201cJ.T. Miller told the most recent Pettersson he needed to be in higher shape, and look what happened to J.T. Miller. So there\u2019s the reply, right? It\u2019s a thing that\u2019s known, right? Look, I\u2019ll give him the knee tendinitis, the one yr he had the injuries, after which obviously all the pieces that\u2019s happened in his personal life. There, there’s a little bit of stuff, but at the top of the day, you\u2019re getting paid $11.6 million. The time for excuses is now, very mainly over.<\/p>\n

Like, you\u2019re a man who must be a franchise player; you\u2019d be the highest, the highest-paid player on 25 other teams within the National Hockey League. Like, that could be a big responsibility that Elias Pettersson has to bear. And I believe that if Daniel and Henrik Sedin can\u2019t get through to Elias Pettersson, who\u2019s going to at this point, right? Right.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m not talking about Elias Pettersson as a 20-21-year-old player, 22-year-old player, trying to search out his way within the National Hockey League. Like this guy\u2019s a person, like he’s within the National Hockey League. He got his big contract, such as you are actually to be trusted night in and night out, so we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n

I mean, talks across the National Hockey League, or individuals are out on him. They don\u2019t know if he can ever regain that 102-point form. We\u2019ll need to wait and see what happens. But yeah, Pates, I mean, like preparation is vital. You\u2019ve got to come back to camp in shape, and for me, it\u2019s leading by example.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t, if I\u2019m Elias Pettersson, I don\u2019t want to come back into camp in shape, I would like to come back into camp and be the guy and be like I\u2019m him, I\u2019m the one in probably the most shape. You all have to come back and catch as much as me, like that\u2019s the instance that I believe that fans wish to see from him.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the instance that I believe the front office and ownership wish to see from him, and hopefully in some unspecified time in the future it\u2019ll be for him to understand that this summer, that like, okay, because the choice is, well, we were probably gonna need to look and trade you.<\/p>\n

But you realize what\u2019s much more upsetting, and possibly embarrassing, is once you hear reports come out and say that there\u2019s, there isn\u2019t a marketplace for Elias Pettersson right away. Just like the guy, you realize what I mean, like he\u2019s a top-tier, must be a top-tier player within the National Hockey League, and teams must be lining up for him. But due to what we heard, and since of what we all know, it just ain\u2019t there.\u201d<\/p>\n
