Stephen Colbert<\/strong> marked his penultimate episode of The Late Show<\/em> with a complete host of celebrity guests \u2014 including some who were vocal about President Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Iconic musician Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> closed the Wednesday, May 20, episode of the CBS late-night talk show with a rendition of his anti-ICE protest song \u201cStreets of Minneapolis,\u201d but not before taking a shot at Trump, 79, and the owners of CBS\u2019 parent company, Paramount Skydance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m here tonight in support for Stephen since you\u2019re the primary guy in America who\u2019s lost his show because we\u2019ve got a president who can\u2019t take a joke,\u201d Springsteen, 76, said<\/a> before his performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd since Larry<\/strong> and David Ellison<\/strong> feel they should kiss his ass to get what they need,\u201d the rocker added. \u201cStephen, these are small-minded people \u2026 they got no idea what the freedoms of this beautiful country are speculated to be about.\u201d<\/p>\n

CBS announced the cancellation of The Late Show<\/em> in July 2025, citing financial reasons. Nonetheless, that hasn\u2019t stopped speculation that the show was canceled for political reasons.<\/p>\n

Up to now, Trump has taken aim at Colbert, 62, and his fellow late night hosts. Upon news of the Late Show<\/em>\u2019s cancellation, the president wrote via his Truth Social<\/a> page, \u201cI absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even lower than his rankings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong> is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!<\/p>\n

\u201cGreg Gutfeld<\/strong> is best than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show<\/em>,\u201d he added, referring to Jimmy Fallon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s second-to-last program, Colbert reversed roles together with his celebrity guests as he took the recent seat and fielded questions from the likes of Robert De Niro<\/strong>, Billy Crystal<\/strong>, Martha Stewart<\/strong>, Tiffany Haddish<\/strong>, Aubrey Plaza<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n

When De Niro, 82, sat in Colbert\u2019s armchair to grill Colbert within the recurring segment \u201cThe Colbert Questionert,\u201d<\/a> the Oscar winner couldn\u2019t resist a jab at Trump.<\/p>\n
