Actress Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> had nice things to say about Adam Driver<\/strong>, and now it seems he’s returning the favor! The \u201cJurassic World Rebirth\u201d actress first worked with the \u201cStar Wars\u201d actor on 2019\u2019s \u201cMarriage Story\u201d before teaming up with him again on 2026\u2019s \u201cPaper Tiger.\u201d The comments come on the heels of Lena Dunham<\/strong> and her 2026 memoir \u201cFamesick,\u201d wherein she alleged that the actor threw a chair in her direction after she forgot her lines and screamed in her face while they were filming the hit HBO comedy \u201cGirls.\u201d <\/p>\n

In 2019\u2019s \u201cMarriage Story,\u201d Johansson starred opposite Driver within the acclaimed Noah Baumbach drama that follows two parents navigating a tumultuous custody battle amid their divorce. In September 2025, she told PEOPLE<\/a> magazine that it was \u201cgreat\u201d working with the \u201cPaterson\u201d actor. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI really like Adam as an individual, and he’s a fully extraordinary actor,\u201d she said on the time. \u201cIf I could make every movie with Adam Driver, I might.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2019, she opened as much as\u00a0As If<\/em>\u00a0magazine<\/a>\u00a0about how \u201cbrutal\u201d a few of their scenes were to film. \u201cWe spent two entire days screaming at one another, brutally screaming and fighting for 2 full days,\u201d she shared on the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was exhausting, but when I didn\u2019t have as strong an actor as Adam to take all of the stuff I used to be giving him, I might have been lost,\u201d she added. \u201cFor me, working with other actors is a very necessary a part of what I do \u2026 it\u2019s every little thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

While talking to Collider<\/a> about his relationship along with his \u201cPaper Tiger\u201d costars, Driver praised Miles Teller<\/strong>, who’s married to Scarlett Johansson\u2019s character on this film, as \u201cvery generous and ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cScarlett, I\u2019d worked with before, so we immediately had a history and a familiarity that we didn\u2019t need to work at that,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd it really, truthfully, wasn\u2019t a giant thing to work out with Miles. He was very forthcoming with how he related to the script, and I used to be too.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to debate their working relationship on \u201cMarriage Story,\u201d which he described as a \u201cdifficult shoot\u201d as a consequence of their intense argument scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had some very intimate moments on\u00a0Marriage Story<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 on set, to be clear. That was a difficult shoot, and a number of people were being very generous within the shooting of that,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo, I felt immediately acquainted with Scarlett. She\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s one other actor where she\u2019s not only eager about her character, she\u2019s eager about the culture on set and ensuring that the entire system is working,\u201d he continued. \u201cShe\u2019s generous, she\u2019s prepared, she\u2019s awesome, awesome to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

While filming \u201cGirls,\u201d Dunham alleged that Driver could possibly be \u201cverbally aggressive\u201d toward her and even once \u201churled a chair on the wall\u201d next to her when she forgot her lines.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember doing a fight scene with Adam and the way scary it was to fulfill someone so totally present with such absence,\u201d Dunham wrote. \u201cLate one night, as we practiced lines in my trailer, I discovered that mine were suddenly gone. I knew I\u2019d written them. I\u2019d known them only minutes before. But after I opened my mouth, all that got here out was a stammer \u2014 until finally, Adam screamed, \u2018F-CKING SAY SOMETHING\u2019 and hurled a chair on the wall next to me. \u2018WAKE THE F-CK UP,\u2019 he told me. \u2018I\u2019M SICK OF WATCHING YOU JUST STARE.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
