Could the Vancouver Canucks move off players this offseason?<\/h2>\n

Irf Gaffar of Day by day Faceoff and DFO Rundown Insider Show joined TFP Hotstove on Saturday on Sirius XM NHL Network Radio with Dennis Bernstein, Dave Pagnotta, and Ryan Paton. There, he was asked concerning the potential trades the Vancouver Canucks<\/a> could make with players like Jake DeBrusk, Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson, and others.<\/p>\n

Dave Pagnotta: \u201cSo, as they, they\u2019re going to determine what to do with Petey (Elias Pettersson<\/a>). Clearly, the Sedins will spearhead that as you were suggesting. But Jake DeBrusk<\/a> didn\u2019t join the Vancouver Canucks, signing up for a rebuild. He desires to win. He\u2019s got an honest contract. He voiced his displeasure with the direction of the team last season or this past season. Excuse me, is he the primary guy to go? How do they handle this case?\u201d<\/p>\n

Irf Gaffar: \u201cYeah, I feel Ryan Johnson<\/a> goes to have a gathering with all of his players, and I feel he\u2019s going to persuade them of the direction that they wish to take. Right, there\u2019s one thing once you get a brand new coach and say, okay, well, we now have a brand new coach here, that is what we\u2019re planning on doing, but such as you mentioned off the highest, there\u2019s that query, Dave, prefer it is a rebuild, and does Jake DeBrusk want that? Does Dick DeBus wish to be a component of that?<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals, and the Vancouver Canucks<\/a><\/p>\n

I do know living in Vancouver is great, and all those things are good, but there was talk concerning the Edmonton Oilers last season. Now, with the Oilers, there was no way they were going to make that cash work. Obviously, the connection to Alberta and Jake DeBrusk is certainly there, but he\u2019s a man that may perhaps profit or appreciate a change of scenery.<\/p>\n

Let me say from Vancouver, there are loads of guys on this roster that we talked about last season that the Canucks were going to have a look at and say the player A) doesn\u2019t wish to be here, or B) the Canucks don\u2019t want them here, and Jake DeBrusk is one among them. I definitely think that for those who take a look at who the Canucks haven’t any movement clauses currently on their rosters, with Jake DeBrusk probably makes essentially the most sense as someone that\u2019s willing to waive, and that they could give you the option to get something in return for.<\/p>\n

If I\u2019m a team that’s an aspiring Stanley Cup contender or aspiring team that wishes to do really, really, rather well within the playoffs, and I take a look at that Canucks roster, and I\u2019m like, who there do I actually like, like that I\u2019m going to present up real assets for because we expect that this guy can really help us.<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: Would Elias Pettersson Waive his NMC? What Could the Return Be?<\/a><\/p>\n

Yeah, I\u2019m not entirely sure Brock Besser is there at $7 million for the following five-six years. Elias Pettersson, we all know, isn\u2019t really there for the following 5 – 6 years. And the one other player I can say is Filip Hronek<\/a>. Filip Hronek will probably get the Canucks a haul back if that were ever the case. I just don\u2019t think that’s the case. I feel that he desires to be here. There are rumours of him being named the captain here in Vancouver, but again, guys, beyond that, there ain\u2019t much here.<\/p>\n

The cabinet is pretty thin in terms of the Vancouver Canucks and their immediate assets. So, for those who\u2019re Ryan Johnson, Daniel and Henrik Sedin<\/a>, you’ve got to do what you preach and say we\u2019re going to take it slow, and it\u2019s going to take time, but sooner or later, you\u2019re going to need to take an L on a deal, absolutely, to try to improve the hockey team.\u201d<\/p>\n

NHLRumors.com Note:<\/strong> The Vancouver Canuck<\/a>s were at all times attempting to improve the combination and get younger as Jim Rutherford<\/a> counted down the times until he was stepping away from the team. There was no chemistry within the room. No matter what happened with Quinn Hughes<\/a>, the Canucks signed some players to bad deals. Like Thatcher Demko<\/a>\u2018s latest three-year contract extension is value $25.5 million, an $8.5 million AAV with a full no-movement clause for the complete term. That may be a tough contract to maneuver.<\/p>\n

There are other contracts like that on the team as well. However the Canucks can have to begin somewhere. Jake DeBrusk\u2019s contract was a contract that made you go whoa on the time<\/a>. He’s so inconsistent as a player. But there can be a team that takes a run at him. Boeser probably must have signed elsewhere, but felt comfortable there. Is Marcus Pettersson<\/a> in play? It’s going to be hard for the Canucks to seek out trade partners.<\/p>\n
