President Donald Trump<\/strong> isn\u2019t mourning the tip of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A day after the ultimate episode of the late night talk show aired, Trump, 79, responded to its end by sharing an AI-generated video of himself and Colbert<\/strong>, 62, via X.<\/p>\n

Within the video shared<\/a> on Friday, May 22, an AI version of Trump approached an AI version of Colbert on The Late Show<\/em> and grabbed him by the shoulders. Trump then picked up Colbert and threw him in an on-stage dumpster. Trump closed the dumpster\u2019s lid with Colbert inside, then smirked and started dancing.<\/p>\n

The AI footage was also posted via the official White House account<\/a> on X, with the accompanying caption reading, \u201cBye-bye \ud83d\udc4b.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tStephen Colbert had a couple of selection words for President Donald Trump after The Late Show was canceled. \u201cI absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even lower than his rankings,\u201d Trump, 79, shared via his Truth Social page on Friday, July 18, only a day after Colbert, 61, announced his show\u2019s cancellation. Trump also took to social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday to comment on The Late Show<\/em>\u2019s demise.<\/p>\n

\u201cStephen Colbert\u2019s firing from CBS was the \u2018Starting of the End\u2019 for untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and really poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cOthers, of even less talent, to soon follow. May all of them Rest in Peace!\u201d<\/p>\n

Colbert\u2019s final episode aired on Thursday, May 21, almost a yr after CBS announced in July 2025 that the show was being axed.<\/p>\n

The move caused fast backlash from viewers on the time resulting from its popularity and the perception that the choice can have been resulting from Colbert\u2019s political comments.<\/p>\n

Network executives then released a press release defending their call to tug the plug on the show. The statement insisted the choice was not \u201crelated in any method to the show\u2019s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount\u201d and claimed it was\u00a0 resulting from financial reasons.<\/p>\n
