The Vancouver Canucks may very well be bringing Ilya Sofonov over to N.A. next season<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hockey News Hub<\/strong><\/a>: Have been hearing that Vancouver Canucks prospect Ilya Sofonov won\u2019t be extending with AK Bars of the KHL and will probably be signing with the Canucks for next yr.<\/p>\n

Rick Dhaliwal<\/strong><\/a>: (as of Thursday) There haven\u2019t been any contract talks between the Canucks and Sofonov yet, but there may very well be some within the near future.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s happening with Simon Nemec and the Latest Jersey Devils?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Every day Faceoff<\/a><\/strong>: David Pagnotta, when asked if Simon Nemec<\/a> has asked for a trade. Has there been any talk between Latest Jersey Devils GM Sunny Mehta and Nemec\u2019s agent?<\/p>\n

Pagnotta: \u201cWell, because the time we\u2019re doing this, neither Nemec\u2019s camp nor the Devils have confirmed the report over in Slovakia that he has asked for a trade. The report also indicated that there\u2019s been a scarcity of communication. I don\u2019t imagine that to be accurate.<\/p>\n

I feel that Sonny Mehta has, once he got here in, has talked to quite a lot of players. I imagine he\u2019s reached out and spoken with Nemeth just camp. So possibly there\u2019s slightly little bit of a disconnect there.<\/p>\n

But we don\u2019t know definitively on the time, we\u2019re doing this, if a trade request has been made or not. We do know is that his name has been floating across the trade market going back, you already know, all season, even last offseason, to slightly bit.<\/p>\n

We all know that the Latest Jersey Devils have been looking and attempting to add an offensive sort of player, winger presumably, to play alongside Jack Hughes<\/a>. That was on their previous regime. We\u2019ll see what Sonny Mehta and his camp now need to do by way of shaping this team slightly bit and allowing them to maneuver forward.<\/p>\n

But look, if you happen to\u2019re going to maneuver Nemec, who\u2019s an RFA, by the best way, or will probably be in July, that\u2019s a reasonably good-looking carrot to dangle for teams on the market. Now, we\u2019ll see what that potentially translates to, but again, a scoring winner to play along Jack Hughes could be a top Mehta\u2019s list of things that he wants to perform this offseason.<\/p>\n
