On top of this, the veteran claims he was intrigued by the AEW roster, and specifically felt that he’d achieved all he could in WWE, while in AEW, he’d have the possibility to step within the ring with the likes of Kenny\u00a0Omega and MJF.<\/p>\n
“I’d type of worked everyone there was to work in WWE that I desired to. Obviously, there are still some [I didn’t work with], but I checked out AEW and probably the most glaring one I’d never wrestled [was] Samoa Joe. That is crazy,” he identified. “Literally everyone on the roster besides [Chris] Jericho, Christian, Dustin [Rhodes], and Billy Gunn.”<\/p>\n
Copeland’s AEW profession is currently in jeopardy, as he and Christian Cage are set to face AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR in an I Quit Match, but even that’s more exciting to the previous World Heavyweight Champion than scary.<\/p>\n
“If you happen to had said 10 years ago, ‘We’re gonna get Christian and Copeland together as a team and so they’re gonna face FTR in AEW in an ‘I Quit’ match with careers on the road for the tag team titles,’ you’d go, ‘Well, that sounds awesome, but that is clearly not gonna occur ’cause two of those dudes are retired,'” Copeland explained. “Yet, here we’re.
