Teams are involved in Buffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi, including the Ottawa Senators<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kevin Weekes<\/a><\/strong>: Have been told that Buffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi is getting some trade interest from several teams. The Ottawa Senators are one among the teams interested.<\/p>\n

Bruce Garrioch of The Ottawa Citizen<\/a><\/strong>: The Ottawa Senators could turn to the Buffalo Sabres for his or her backup to Linus Ullmark next season, in response to Weekes\u2019 report. Senators GM Steve Staios said that adding a reliable backup is a priority.<\/p>\n

Levi has a yr left on his contract at $812,500 and would require waivers if sent to the AHL, which is probably going why Sabres GM Jarmo Kekalainen is testing the waters to see what teams would offer up.<\/p>\n

If the Sabres desire a goaltender back, they might ask the Senators for Leevi Merilainen, who’s a pending RFA that also requires waivers and who struggled last season.<\/p>\n

The soon to be 39-year old said: \u201cUnder no circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crosby adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I\u2019m saying yr to yr based on contracts,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt just seems to make sense. I mean, it could change. We\u2019ll see. Kyle (Dubas) and I haven\u2019t even talked about it. But I\u2019ll talk with Pat (Brisson) and Kyle later this summer. We\u2019ll discuss it and do what is sensible. If it does make sense to sign for a few years, then we\u2019ll do this.\u201d<\/p>\n
