The US is anxious that Russia\u2019s repeated threatening of the Baltic states could see a brand new front open in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Moscow has usually and falsely accused Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania of facilitating drone strikes on Russia\u2019s key oil ports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are fears Moscow is in search of to open a brand new front against the West, a move that would potentially trigger WW3.\u00a0<\/p>\n

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said: \u2018We understand these countries feel threatened by it, obviously, for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n

\u2018So, it\u2019s a concerning thing, because you mostly worry that something like that may spark into something larger, and that\u2019s at all times a possibility.\u2019<\/p>\n

He warned of a \u2018fear of escalation\u2019, saying Washington was closely monitoring the mounting tension.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nordic and\u00a0Baltic states united to reject Russia\u2019s \u2018blatant disinformation campaign and false claims\u2019 after Moscow alleged that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were allowing Ukraine to make use of their territory or airspace for attacks on Kremlin territory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018The Nordic-Baltic countries have never allowed their territory or airspace for use for these attacks against targets in Russia,\u2019 said the foreign ministers of the NB8 states, which include Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.<\/p>\n

They accused Putin of in search of\u00a0\u2018to divert attention\u2019 from Russia\u2019s \u2018illegal war\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018This\u00a0will\u00a0not succeed and must stop immediately,\u2019 they added.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Ukraine staged major attacks against military-linked sites in Russia, including oil refineries used to fund Putin\u2019s war.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Black Sea naval port of Novorossiysk, the Grushovaya oil terminal, a subsidiary of Transneft, the most important oil storage facility within the Caucasus, was ablaze.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It has a complete capability of about 1.2 million tons of petroleum products.
Smoke was also rising from the Shesharis oil loading terminal on the Novorossiysk coast.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a long-distance strike, Ukraine also hit Perm within the Urals, a distance of 1,000-plus miles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Metafrax chemical plant, supplying hexamine and pentaerythritol, used for explosives and weapons production, was on fire.<\/p>\n
