The David Dhawan Film Festival is happening in PVR and to have fun the legendary director, the multiplex chain organized a fireplace chat. It involved David Dhawan talking about his life and movies together with his son, Varun Dhawan. Incidentally, each are also gearing up for the discharge of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai<\/em>. The comic caper will arrive in cinemas on June 5. Towards the top of the event, David Dhawan opened up concerning the hardships he faced and the way actors sometimes declined to work with him.<\/p>\n

David Dhawan admits he made Chashme Baddoor in ANGER: \u201cI used to be not getting stars. They didn\u2019t reject the film but they were hesitating\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

David Dhawan said, \u201cIf a director\u2019s film doesn\u2019t work, toh<\/em> actor usko dekh ke kahin aur muud<\/em> jaayega<\/em>. Actor ki jaat hi aisi hoti hai<\/em>! Actor kisi ka saga nahin hai<\/em>.\u201d Varun was amused and in addition awkward, as he\u2019s an actor. It also raised laughs.<\/p>\n

David continued, \u201cBut there\u2019s one actor I worked with who never bothered ki iski<\/em> film chali ya<\/em> nahin<\/em>. That actor is Govinda. I remember once when my film didn\u2019t work, I used to be upset. He told me, \u2018Tu<\/em> script likh<\/em> na\u2019<\/em>! Then I wrote Shola Aur Shabnam<\/em> (1992).\u201d<\/p>\n

Varun asked him, \u201cWas there a time while you weren’t getting stars?\u201d He replied, \u201cYes, I made Chashme Baddoor<\/em> (2013). Bahut gusse mein banayi thi maine<\/em>. Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) was there within the film as well. He told me, \u2018I don\u2019t have a task\u2019. I replied, \u2018Aap karo, yaar\u2019<\/em>! He did it for me (smiles).\u201d<\/p>\n

Varun then asked, \u201cDid you face rejection from some actors?\u201d David explained, \u201cNo, but I could feel it. They were hesitating. I desired to get out of that rut of stars, which was difficult. When one is ready to write down a very good script and get good songs, then that person could make a movie with newcomers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chashme Baddoor<\/em> starred Ali Zafar, Divyenndu and Siddharth. It marked the debut of Taapsee Pannu in Hind cinema.<\/p>\n
