General Hospital<\/em>\u2019s Kate Mansi<\/strong> will exit the daytime soap opera.<\/p>\n

In an interview with SoapSteph\u2019s Daytime Dish<\/em><\/a>, Mansi, 38, confirmed that her run as Kristina Corinthos-Davis got here to an end last month when her last day of filming occurred. \u201cI\u2019ve made the very difficult decision to go away General Hospital<\/em>,\u201d Mansi told the outlet in an article published on Sunday, May 24.<\/p>\n

Mansi, who joined the long-running soap in 2023, added that recent projects required her \u201cfull attention\u201d as did the necessity to support her husband, Matt McInnis<\/strong>. \u201cWith my husband currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibleness to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The interview also included a note of gratitude from Mansi. \u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful to Frank<\/strong> [Valentini<\/strong>, the show\u2019s executive producer], ABC, and our writers for the care they gave Kristina,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride. I\u2019ve loved being a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl in such an exceptional family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The door is at all times open, and we appreciate all that she added to the show these past three years,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Mansi, who rose to fame as Abigail Deveraux in Days of Our Lives<\/em> from 2011 to 2020, also discussed with the outlet why she was originally drawn to joining the General Hospital<\/em> forged. \u201cWhen Frank first approached me concerning the role, two things deeply resonated with me: the chance to indicate my support for the queer community by playing an LGBTQ+ character, and to assist tell an endometriosis storyline,\u201d the actress said. \u201cTogether, I actually feel we honored each of those stories in a way that mattered.<\/p>\n
