Suriya\u2019s fantasy motion entertainer Karuppu is rewriting box office records and is already the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026. Its theatrical run has translated into phenomenal ticket bookings. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film has sustained an exceptional hold over its second weekend and second Monday, achieving a significant milestone on BookMyShow (BMS).<\/span><\/p>\n

In reality, by the twelfth day, the film has already hit 3.76 million ticket sales, with the twelfth day, the third Tuesday, May 26, <\/span>hitting a complete of<\/span> 37K<\/span><\/strong> ticket sales from 7 AM to six PM. The film officially stands because the sixth-highest-selling Kollywood film on BMS.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 12 days, Karuppu has managed to push Kamal Haasan\u2019s Indian 2 from the list of the all-time highest ticket sales for Kollywood movies since 2023 on BookMyShow. <\/span>Suriya is now eyeing a <\/span>top 5<\/span> entry, positioning himself right rather than Thalapathy Vijay\u2019s <\/span>The<\/span> GOAT.<\/span><\/p>\n

Suriya\u2019s film, also starring Trisha Krishnan, has pushed Kamal Haasan\u2019s Indian 2 out of the Top 10 altogether. <\/span>It needs roughly 750K more ticket bookings to take down Thalapathy Vijay\u2019s The GOAT, which <\/span>registered a ticket sale of<\/span> 4.51M, and claim the #5 spot.<\/span><\/p>\n
