Packers running back Josh<\/strong> Jacobs<\/strong> was arrested today and booked on five charges, based on Matt Schneidman of The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The costs include battery\/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property\/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct\/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim. The strangulation charge is a felony, with the opposite 4 charges being misdemeanors. Jacobs has denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

In keeping with the discharge from the Hobart\/Lawrence, Wisconsin police department (via NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport<\/a>), the arrest stems from a \u201cdisturbance grievance\u201d involving Jacobs that took place on Saturday. Jacobs turned himself in today.<\/p>\n

\u201cJosh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is within the early stages of investigation with necessary evidence that has not yet been made public,\u201d<\/em> the player\u2019s attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in an announcement (via Rapoport<\/a>). \u201cWe ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Packers also released an announcement (via NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero<\/a>):<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. Because it is an ongoing legal situation, we’ll withhold further comment.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The NFL released an identical statement (via Pelissero<\/a>):<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re aware of the report and have been in touch with the club.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Following a five-year stint with the Raiders to start his profession, Jacobs inked a four-year, $48MM contract with the Packers ahead of the 2024 season. Through his first two years in Green Bay, the veteran has compiled 2,882 yards from scrimmage and 30 total touchdowns.<\/p>\n

From a football standpoint, Jacobs can be subject to the league\u2019s personal conduct policy. After losing Emanuel<\/strong> Wilson<\/strong> in free agency, the team\u2019s depth behind their RB1 currently consists of Chris<\/strong> Brooks<\/strong>, MarShawn<\/strong> Lloyd<\/strong>, Pierre<\/strong> Strong<\/strong>, Damien<\/strong> Martinez<\/strong>, and UDFA Jaden<\/strong> Nixon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
