Rescuers pulled 4 people to safety after they’d been trapped inside a submerged cave for nearly two weeks. <\/p>\n

The survival ordeal happened in Laos after a bunch of gold hunters had crawled right into a cave within the distant central Xaysomboun province 10 days ago. <\/p>\n

The cave entrance was cut off suddenly when flash flooding surged inside, leaving seven men trapped inside. <\/p>\n

Five were spotted alive on Wednesday, around 984ft from the cave entrance. Two men remain missing. <\/p>\n

Today marked one other victory for the rescuers after the water level dropped enough for the remaining 4 to be taken to safety. <\/p>\n

One survivour, wearing just shorts and a headtorch, managed a faint smile as he was supported away through the rocky terrain. <\/p>\n

The lads were laid down on stretchers and given oxygen masks and drips as a medic appeared to ascertain them. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, water remains to be being pumped out of the cavern in a bid to try find the ultimate two men who’re missing underground.<\/p>\n

The rescue operation within the distant area involves specialist divers from neighbouring Thailand, Indonesia, France and Australia. <\/p>\n

Rescue Volunteer for People said on Facebook today: \u2018The water intake within the cave is decreasing and our plans will not be finished yet [sic] will proceed to look for 2 missing people from various locations.\u2019<\/p>\n

The most recent rescue has sparked memories of the 2018 incident when young Thai footballers became stuck for 18 days in a cave. <\/p>\n

The Laos cave ordeal got here after five divers and one rescuer died in an underwater cave within the Maldives. <\/p>\n

The five Italian divers had entered a 160ft deep \u2018shark\u2019 cave when the accident happened.<\/p>\n
