Greater than 400 people were arrested overnight after widespread unrest erupted following Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s victory over Arsenal within the Champions League final.<\/p>\n

Tens of 1000’s of fans of the French club celebrated their team\u2019s dramatic penalty shootout victory over Mikel Arteta\u2019s Gunners yesterday.<\/p>\n

Sadly, things turned nasty quickly with some fans setting off flares and fireworks, while e-bikes were seen being torched in Paris.<\/p>\n

Rioters also damaged six vehicles, two businesses and a bus shelter in violence that took place across the EU country, in response to French police.<\/p>\n

French Interior Minister Laurent Nu\u00f1ez branded the unrest \u2018absolutely unacceptable\u2019 as he revealed that seven officers had been injured within the violence.<\/p>\n

As order was restored today, police said they’d made 416 arrests, including 280 people in Paris.<\/p>\n

The clashes were a tragic repeat of last 12 months\u2019s violence when supporters of the French team caused chaos after winning the identical trophy.<\/p>\n

Authorities had braced themselves prematurely and 1000’s of law enforcement officials were deployed across France to curb any unrest.<\/p>\n

Nu\u00f1ez said they’d a \u2018very robust, very solid system in place\u2019.<\/p>\n

Before the violence erupted overnight, there had been clashes between police and PSG supporters on the club\u2019s Parc des Princes, where the club had erected giant screens for them to look at the ultimate, which took place in Budapest.<\/p>\n

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen wrote on X: \u2018Only in France does a football club\u2019s victory spark riots.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly in France does everyone feel compelled to lock themselves of their homes on the evening of a victory to avoid being confronted with violence.\u2019<\/p>\n

Players are on account of participate in a victory parade this afternoon, which incorporates touring the Champ-de-Mars next to the Eiffel Tower and a reception held by French President Emmanuel Macron.<\/p>\n
