Serrano overwhelmed Hanson and compelled a referee stoppage at 2:25 of round two within the co-main event of MVPW-03.<\/p>\n

The seven-division world champion spent the opening round studying Hanson before increasing the pressure dramatically within the second. Serrano backed the challenger toward the ropes and unloaded combos that Hanson couldn’t answer. After absorbing a sustained attack, the referee stepped in to halt the competition.<\/p>\n

The victory improved Serrano\u2019s record to 49-4-1 with 32 knockouts, while Hanson fell to 17-3.<\/p>\n

After the fight, Serrano credited the three-minute rounds for helping her break down opponents more effectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to first thank Cheyenne for taking the fight. She\u2019s a compulsory. She got here to fight. She got here to win,\u201d Serrano said. \u201cThe three minutes we get to establish our shots. The primary round I used to be attempting to figure her out, attempting to land my shots. Once I went to the corner, I told Jordan, \u2018I got it.\u2019 I used to be just feeling her out. I got it now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Serrano added that the prolonged rounds allow fighters more opportunities to create offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel the three minutes give us more time to have a good time in here. That\u2019s what I used to be doing. I used to be having fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The knockout also moved Serrano level with Martin atop the ladies\u2019s boxing record books, a milestone she acknowledged immediately after the bout.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can break it in the following one,\u201d Serrano said when asked about surpassing Martin\u2019s mark. \u201cI can do the fiftieth and break it in the following one. Let\u2019s go. That\u2019s the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The performance got here in front of the most important combat sports crowd ever hosted on the El Paso County Coliseum. Serrano thanked fans for supporting women\u2019s boxing and helping elevate the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is what we want for the game to grow. Sell out arenas. Not only for me. I\u2019m so pleased that ladies can sell out, and we\u2019re showing, proving day after day, fight after fight, that we will sell out. Fans need to see us,\u201d Serrano said.<\/p>\n

At 37 years old, Serrano stays undefeated at featherweight and continues adding to a record that already places her amongst essentially the most achieved fighters in women\u2019s boxing history. Yet another victory could deliver two more milestones: her fiftieth skilled win and sole possession of the all-time women\u2019s knockout record.<\/p>\n
