David Benavidez has reached a degree where some observers now not see Dmitry Bivol as his most interesting opponent.<\/p>\n

Benavidez\u2019s recent success at cruiserweight has modified the discussion about who he should face next. After stopping Gilberto Ramirez to capture the WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles, the unbeaten champion has been linked to fights against Bivol, Artur Beterbiev, Jai Opetaia, and even heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk.<\/p>\n

Bivol recently returned from a 15-month layoff and back surgery with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Michael Eifert. While discussing what could come next for each fighters, Max Kellerman argued that Benavidez could have already moved beyond the sunshine heavyweight division.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got to be honest about Benavidez at once. I believe he\u2019s too big for those guys [Bivol and Beterbiev]. I believe Benavidez got to take a look at Jai Opetaia,\u201d Kellerman said on InsideRingShow.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kellerman later expanded on that view, suggesting Benavidez has turn out to be a natural cruiserweight after his move up in weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cBenavidez is a 200-pounder,\u201d Kellerman said.<\/p>\n

The panel debated whether Bivol\u2019s elite boxing ability could still offset Benavidez\u2019s physical benefits. Mike Coppinger pointed to Bivol\u2019s distance control and defensive skills, while Kellerman maintained that Benavidez\u2019s size, youth, and punch output would present a unique variety of challenge.<\/p>\n

Benavidez\u2019s stock has climbed rapidly since his victory over Ramirez. Questions surrounded how his power and pressure would carry to cruiserweight, but lots of those doubts disappeared after he stopped the previous unified champion in six rounds.<\/p>\n

For Kellerman, the more compelling discussion may now not involve Bivol in any respect.<\/p>\n
